LETTER FROM POOL DIRECTOR KRISTIN MULLER

Hello ALE Members,

Believe it or not, it's already time to start thinking about summer! And I'm sure that may bring a smile to some of your faces as we plug through these last few cold spells of winter.

I want to take a moment, first, to thank you all for making our 2007 Grand Re-opening season such a great success. The enthusiasm of our members made the pool such a wonderful place to be on a daily basis. And we certainly appreciated your patience through our extended reconstruction-we know it wasn't easy, but we hope you found the new facility well worth the wait. We certainly learned a lot last season, as well, and we will be working hard this spring with the hope of building upon and extending last season's success.

I think many of you will be happy to know that we are working hard to add more shade to the pool deck for the 2008 season. We are presently researching several options available, and we hope to make it possible for even more of you to escape the summer sun in the upcoming season. As well, we will be finishing some of the landscaping that was begun last year.

As a result of the success of so many of our pool programs in 2007, we are pleased to announce that ALL of our programs will be continuing in 2008. We encourage you to pre-register for any programs in which you are interested. This will allow many of you to more easily plan your schedules around the programs you are interested in, not to mention securing a spot in programs with limited space available. These pre-registration forms will soon be available here on the site, along with descriptions of all of the various programs we offer. Please note that we are expanding the Early Bird Program to include a third morning, and that Coach Laura's Masters Swim Program is also increasing the number of its sessions.

For those of you not involved in our ALE Swim & Dive Team, I am happy to announce that our team won the Division 2 Championships last season and will be moving up to compete in Division 1 this season. It has been quite a while since ALE was in Division 1, and the competition will be fierce. We appreciate the continued support of the entire community as we work to regain a prominent position in Northern Westchester swimming. Please check back here on the site in the coming weeks for Swim Team info and schedules. Coach Laura will be sending a pre-registration form for returning A & B Team swimmers; all new members and 2007 Developmental Team members can register during tryouts, which will be held in late May.

Finally, we are now approaching our membership limit, which is very exciting so soon after reconstruction. If you have friends or neighbors who are considering joining the pool, please encourage them to do so quickly in order to avoid being shut out.
